The built-in Li-Ion battery can be recharged via the USB port. You will need a micro USB cable for this, as you probably already have one at home. That's why we supply the hedue EM3 laser distance meter without a cable and charger, so we don't burden the environment any more than necessary.

The simple operation with just one button is fun. This has enabled us to keep the laser distance meter so exceptionally small that it really does fit in any trouser pocket or handbag.

A laser distance meter measures the distance by reflecting the laser beam. Water does not reflect the laser beam sufficiently.
